How do you charge for your web services?

We charge an annual fee, depending on the size of the site, the technology involved, and the complexity. We include complimentary hosting and domain name and free updating, which is not to be confused with adding new pages, products or functionality. Additional services are always available at $75 an hour.

How long does it typically take to design a website?

It depends on how complex the site is and what technology is being used or included. On average, we spend around 5 business days designing and developing a really nice 10 page site, depending on the complexity of the content provided and depending on how quickly content and designs are approved. A really outstanding ecommerce application usually takes between 30 and 60 business days.

How many revisions are allowed as we fine-tune the design?

We'll go as long as you request us to, if we go over the amount of time specified in our agreement to tune designs to taste, and you want to continue, we charge our hourly rate of $75 until you are pleased. We submit designs to you online, so you can quickly review, comment, and make any requests. We've been doing it for quite a while; people ask us to design for them because they like our designs. You can get a feel for the type of widely varying designs we do by visiting our clients page:

What if I don't like the design even after we keep trying to rework it?

That's not going to happen. However, having said that, it's important to actually like the preexisting work any design company offers; for instance, about 70% of the time, we are left to create designs and logos based on our own impressions and creativity, 100% freedom, and that really defines much of what we display on our site; we like clean, legible pages that are easy to use, a fast download, do not annoy, while maintaining a "crispness" and tasteful use of imaging, whether it's a dental site, a computer company or a rock band.

The other 30% of the time, we are asked to do specific things because we are technically astute and can basically do whatever is thrown at us. We'll do them, because "The Customer Is Always Right" and they know what they want. However, this is why we create a written work agreement specifying the amount of time we will spend on the design phase of the project. It is extremely rare when we go over the amount of time, and it almost always because of either a client miscommunication or the client hasn't actually seen our work. The client should always see our work, and if they should like that, or want something similar, they're going to be extremely pleased.

The bottom line is, frankly, we don't want to design anything we can't put in our portfolio and be proud of, point other prospective clients to, and say "We built that, it looks amazing!".

How are payments handled?

Email us your contact and mailing information, we mail you an invoice for our retainer (50% of our bid) and once received, we go to work. Usually, just telling us the check is in the mail is enough to get your project started.

How do we start on my project?

First, via discussion and email you provide site information and navigation areas for your new website. We then design a "mockup" prototype of what the website will look like on the home page, and post it online for you to review and ultimately approve. Once you approve the design, we'll build the rest of the website documents and populate them with data and (in most cases) images that you provide, or stock imagery from our collection, if necessary!

Please Note Additional Unspecified Work is $75 an hour, and will be accounted for on any work that is additionally requested by the client. Typically, one page equals one billable hour, less or more, depending on amount of content or programming involved.
